Address by Sochi City Municipality Mayor Anatoly Pakhomov
Dear ladies and gentlemen! Dear partners!
The city of Sochi was and is still remaining a focal point for many investors. It is not enough to say that our city is just developing but it is aimed at meeting the world class standards requirements. The Olympic Games Programme 2014 is being implemented without any delay. It is a remarkable event for our city, offering beneficial opportunities both for the city and those to deliver the investment potential here.
In three — four year term the public infrastructure will be fully upgraded — transportation lanes, power production, engineering and communication networks. The city will count for more comfortable hotels, boarding houses and holiday hotels. We have scheduled the reconstruction of Sochi’s beaches and promenades so that they correspond to the world class resorts.
Sochi is to create the most favorable conditions for investors who would like to do business here. The relevant normative base already exists. Besides, some 4 600 hectares of “no developing areas” have been already reserved as investment sites.
The 25-year Sochi Master Plan was adopted recently by the City Council. This very document did not simply seal the Sochi’s development strategy for the years to come but set the clear and transparent rules of cooperation between potential investors and local authorities.
We are much interested in up-to-date Projects on reconstruction of sanatoria and resort venues. We do need very much the innovative Projects on transport and engineering infrastructure. My hope is that during the Forum we will be able to discuss all interesting offers concerning all these issues.
Sochi today is one of the most rapidly developing cities of Russian Federation. Every year there are more and more opportunities for potential investors in our city. We welcome those who are ready for mutually beneficial cooperation!
